Even when you get closer to Frankfurt, by walking in the perfectly restored Römerberg for example, it becomes a charming city. And also while walking on the coast of the Main river with all its museums, visiting the bars in Sachsenhausen or while walking in the Fressgasse or in the elegant Goethestrasse you will be really impressed.

  • Goethe's house: natal house of the most important writer in Germany.
  • Römerberg: old centre of Frankfurt.
  • Imperial cathedral: seat of the coronation of ten kings
  • Saint Paul: the first German free election parliament was placed here.
  • Old opera: center for concerts, congress and special cultural activities.
  • Sachsenhausen: area on the south of the Main, with typical cider bars.
  • Commerzbank: it was built by the famous architect Sir Norman Foster in 1997. The nine gardens placed in the upper floors of the building are really special.
  • Judengasse/Börneplatz: the excavations of Judengasse (Jewish alley) in Frankfurt show the remains of a typical ghetto, even with a Mikwe.

MUSEUMS AND EXPOSITIONS:

Frankfurt is considered an important cultural city due to the museums bord: it is a famous avenue with 13 museums placed on the coast of the Main. The city has in all 40 museums. Some of the most importants are the Modern Art Museum, the Schirn Hall for Art and Expositions, the Städel Cultural Institut and the German Cinema Museum.
